MID-WEEK/WEEKEND TRIP GUIDE

NEW DEPARTURE TIME: 9:00 AM FRIDAY (MORNING) FROM TELUS LOT

Here is where you will find details of Saturday night and weekend destinations, as well as the hotel information. The abbreviations will indicate the suitability for cross country (XC), downhill /alpine skiing (ALP), and snowshoeing (SS). Rental equipment is almost always available to early birds. Remember your snacks and beverages for happy hour. Snacks are also welcome on the return bus trip!

Pick-up points are the same as for day trips (East and West). Only the times are different! SILVER STAR

XC,ALP,SS

One of North America’s finest xc facilities, Silver Star offers miles of powdered trails for every level of skier. Accommodations are in the center of the village, on the mountain. Suites with full kitchens, linens. The hotel also sports a hot tub, pub, and a small store.

APEX/NICKEL PLATE

XC,ALP,SS

Nickel Plate has pristine powder (elevation 1859 m); 56 km of groomed track set classic/skating trails to challenge all skill levels and 20 km of snowshoe trails. Arrangements can be made to downhill on Apex on Saturday. Nearby restaurants and pub. Swimming Pool, hot tub at the hotel.

SUN PEAKS

XC,ALP,SS

With 28 kilometres of track-set cross country trails and another 12 kilometers of un-groomed "backcountry" trails, Sun Peaks offers a diversity of nordic trails suitable for every level of skier. Included with the nordic pass is lift access on the Mt. Morrisey Express, which makes for a great tour from the top of Mt. Morrisey all the way down to the McGillivray Lake warming hut. As well we have a wide variety of shorter trails such as the Village Loop. Two great days of ski in/ski out to enjoy. Accommodation has stove, fridge, microwave, dry sauna. Great restaurants if you don’t want to cook! Something for everyone.

LARCH HILLS/SALMON ARM

XC/SS

41 Km trackset trails (easy, general, and advanced) for classic and skate skiing. There are also backcountry/unset trails.. The Larch Hills Nordic Society maintains a chalet (heated) next to the parking lot, Cec's Cabin about 6K up Larch Hills Road and Tom's Shelter about 4K up Woodlot Ramble. No on-site ski rentals!. Hotel has swimming pool, hot tub, across the street from pub.

HILLS GUEST RANCH/108 MILE

XC/SS

The Hills is home to 150 km of trails in British Columbia's beautiful Cariboo region. The terrain ranges from wide open spaces through gently rolling countryside to challenging hills and descents. Hotel has 3 bedroom chalets with kitchens; spa; restaurant; indoor pool; rentals.

Check the trip schedule to see which trips are shared with Vancouver Skiers. You will need to get your payment to the appropriate co-ordinator. Find your closest pick-up point. Pay attention to your newsletter updates.

At time of printing, most areas have ski rentals on-site. The exception is Larch Hills/Salmon Arm. If you anticipate needing to rent skis, check the website or rent in Vancouver.
