 Sign-Up For a Trip

Make sure to sign up early for your favorite day trips as seating will be limited to 44 people maximum. Volunteers and executive members who are working on the sign-up night will be allowed to pre-register. Trip registration will take place at the monthly general meetings or with the trip coordinator by phone after the meeting. Please make checks payable to NORDIC WRECKS SKI CLUB. If you are registering by phone, mail your check to the trip coordinator immediately, writing a separate check for each trip.

Members are required to present their Nordic Wrecks Membership Card when signing up for trips. You may sign up one other person, with payment in full, at the time of sign-up.

 Pay For A Trip

 v    Day Trips

Payment must be made in full at time of registration. Half price for children 12 and under.

 v    Weekend and Midweek Trips

Payment must be made in full at time of registration or in full by post-dated check, even if on a waiting list, dated no later than 30 days prior to trip. Again, please note, separate checks are required for each trip for accounting purposes.

Note:  For weekend and mid-week trips, prices are based on 4 per room and a minimum of 2 night’s stay, unless stated otherwise. If you are interested in a room for 1 or 2, advise the coordinator when you sign-up, as extra rooms may be available.

Please feel free to bring along finger food to share on the bus. Most weekend trips have a BYOB happy hour and finger food. Check with the trip coordinator for more details.

 Bus Departure Times/Places

 Day Trips

For day trips the bus departs at 7:00 a.m. sharp from the Telus parking lot. To get to the parking lot turn  off Lougheed Highway south onto Bainbridge Ave. You can enter the lot either off Bainbridge Ave. or by going west onto Greenwood St. and then turning north into the lot. See map below. Park at the west side of the lot, where we parked before. There will still be a parking fee as before: Each individual car needs a parking ticket obtainable from the ticket purchasing box on the paved lot.  The box takes quarters and loonies, probably both are needed. So far as we know it's $3.00 for a weekend, and $1.50 for a day trip. For eastbound day trips, the bus will also pick up at the 232nd Street exit (at the Chevron station). Notify trip coordinator if you want the 232nd pickup.

Weekend Trips

The bus leaves the Telus parking lot (see above) at 5:30 pm sharp. For eastbound day trips, the bus will also pick up at the 232nd Street exit (at the Chevron station). Notify trip coordinator if you want the 232nd pickup. You should be at the intersection of 232nd Street and 72nd Avenue, on the south side of 72nd Avenue, by 6:00 pm to catch the bus.

Midweek Trips

Bus leaves from Cariboo Road Church, 7200 Cariboo Road at 9:00 a.m. on Tuesday and generally returns by early evening on Friday. See map on page 11 for location. There will be a pick-up at 232nd Street exit (Chevron station) only if the trip coordinator is previously notified.

If You Have to Cancel

Refunds For Weekend And Mid-Week Trips:  Refunds can be granted only if someone on a waiting list fills the empty seat. Exceptions can be made for illness (with a doctor’s certificate) or legitimate emergencies, but for that, the club executive will make the decision. If you need to cancel, especially if you expect a refund, notify the coordinator well in advance. It is unfair to the coordinator and other members if notice is short.

Day Trip Cancellations:  If a member has to cancel a day trip, they will not receive a refund but instead will be issued a day pass to use on another trip.

If We Have to Cancel

Due to Unforeseen Circumstances, such as Poor Weather or no Snow, Destinations could be change at the Last Minute.

Trips will be cancelled under the following guidelines:

·        For Day Trips:

30 people must be registered the Wed. before the weekend for the trip to be “a go”.

·        For Weekend Trips:

35 people must be registered the week prior for the trip to be “a go”.
